Business Travelers Want to Dine Out, Take Tours

CHICAGO — When folks travel for business, going out for a nice meal tops the list of leisure activities they want to engage in, according to a survey conducted by GO Airport Express, a Chicago-based ground transportation provider.
Additional findings from survey are solid evidence that business travelers prefer to be mobile during a business stay. While 27% of respondents said dining out was their number one activity, 16% prefer taking a tour, and 13% spent time visiting friends or doing working. Shopping was chosen by 9% of respondents.
Further down the list of activities were activities, including reading, exercise, surfing the Internet, and watching TV.
“The top two choices of dining out and taking tours indicate business travelers prefer to spend their free time outside their hotel rooms engaged in social activities,” said John McCarthy, president, GO Airport Express. “Hotel properties might benefit from making it easy for guests to find and get to venues and attractions they would enjoy.”
GO Airport Express provides airport shuttles to and from O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airports, polled travelers nationwide.
